Get Smart (Feb 4, 1967)
"The Girls from KAOS"
|
Before The Producers or Blazing Saddles, before Young Frankenstein or Silent Movie or Robin Hood: Men In Tights, a 39-year-old named Mel Brooks, aided and abetted by Buck Henry, created that classic of 60s TV comedy, Get Smart. Get Smart combined a sophisticated dialog spoofing Cold War politics with the vaudevillian pratfalls of Don Adams as the bumbling Maxwell Smart, supported by a cast that included most notably Barbara Feldon as Agent 99 and Edward Platt as The Chief. In this episode, in which Barbara Feldon does not appear, Tisha made her guest-starring appearance as beauty queen Teesha Heinschmidt, daughter of the famous American scientist Hermann Heinschmidt and target of KAOS kidnappers. The Chief's real first name was Thaddeus, but only a real Get Smart aficionado will know his usual cover name. Others can find out at Would You Believe . . . . |
