The Debutante

Tisha with her mother at a Hollywood reception, c. 1962

Despite Ann’s hope that her daughter would study at the Sorbonne and make a debutante’s marriage, Tisha left home upon graduating from Marymount High School at 17 and accompanied actress Margaret Leighton to New York to co-star with her in Enid Bagnold’s The Chinese Prime Minister.

But Tisha was fired during try-outs for being “too young to play a sexy nymphette”!

Tisha sang "When the Sun Starts Shining Through" in "The Wild Pack" (1972), which is known as "The Defiant" in its video release. Produced, written, and directed by Hall Bartlett, the film was based on a collection of stories by Brazilian novelist Jorge Amado and was a nominee for Golden Prize in the Moscow Film Festival.
